Our Practice
Dr. Tony Ikehara![]() Dr. Ikehara has been practicing optometry in Colorado Springs, Colorado for over five years. Prior to opening Advanced Eye Care of Colorado Springs, PC, Dr. Ikehara worked in a glaucoma/cataract/anterior segment ophthalmology practice in Colorado Springs where he gained tremendous experience and knowledge in a vast array of ocular disease conditions. He chose to open Advanced Eye Care of Colorado Springs, PC in order to continue to provide exceptional quality optometric care with the use of advanced technological equipment to the patients in the optometric community. Dr. Ikehara graduated from The Ohio State University, College of Optometry in Columbus, Ohio. During his training at the university he worked part-time at Retina Consultants, Inc, the retina practice of The Ohio State University, Department of Ophthalmology. Prior to his optometric career, Dr. Ikehara was an Emergency Department nurse in Los Angeles, CA, he served 9 years of active duty with the United States Air Force as a Medical Service Specialist working in the Pulmonary, ICU/CCU, and Emergency Department settings. Dr. Ikehara brings a wealth of knowledge in general health issues and medical concerns that impact vision and the eyes. His experience as a military medic, emergency department nurse, and ophthalmology exposure brings added benefits to all his patients now and in the future. He is dedicated to keeping his skills and knowledge current so that he can continue to provide a high standard of quality care to his patients. Dr. Ikehara is a member of the American Optometric Association, AOA Cornea and Contact Lens Section, Colorado Optometric Association, and Southern Colorado Optometric Society. His volunteer activities include Colorado Special Olympics vision examinations and being a blind skier/hiking guide with the Visually Impaired and Blind Skiers of the Colorado Springs Community (VIBeS). |
